Two First Place Awards at the 2022 SAMPE International Composite Bridge Contest

USC Advanced Composites Design Team (ACDT), advised by Prof. Bo Jin of USC’s M.C. Gill Composites Center, won two 1st Place awards at the 2022 SAMPE International Composite Bridge Contest held at the Charlotte Convention Center, NC on May 25, 2022. The two awards were presented to USC ACDT student Wen Hu at the SAMPE Awards Gala.

The SAMPE Composite Bridge Contest allows students to design, build, and test a structural bridge using various composite materials in accordance with a set of defined rules. This is an international competition involving universities from around the globe. Universities attended the contest this year including USC, UCLA, University of Washington at Seattle, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, University of Tokyo from Japan, McGill University from Canada, University Wisconsin Madison, University of Tennessee Knoxville, University of Maryland, University of Dayton, and Montana Tech University.
