Cost and Lifecycle Assessment Out-of-autoclave prepregs are thought to reduce the cost and environmental impact of manufacturing large parts when compared to the traditional autoclave route. However, only a few studies have considered the specifics of OOA prepregs when investigating cost sources and sinks, and fewer studies still have applied a detailed life cycle assessment (LCA) approach to the issue. These analyses, as carried out during the G8 project, will allow us to realistically assess whether the developed technical solutions have a tangible impact on sustainability.
